As many of you already know, the software that powers Cubing Contests is now known as RecordRanks and is currently being extended to serve other sports communities too. I wanted to make an update regarding this for the sake of transparency.

As of April, RecordRanks is now being developed by Mintydev Ltd - a company registered in the UK. This does not affect the open source status of the software, nor does it change anything in how Cubing Contests functions. CC remains a free and volunteer-run community, and the admin team, including me, will continue working on a volunteer basis, same as always. We are also ending our affiliate partnership with Cuboss one month from now, after which point there will be no more ads on Cubing Contests. We would like to thank the Cuboss team for their support over the past six months!

☝️ I'd also like to share that I'm now offering RecordRanks as a service to benefit other sports communities with similar needs to ours. If you want a platform for organizing sports events with an end-to-end moderation process, automated records and rankings, and more, then definitely check it out! Note: this means your community would get its own dedicated space on recordranks.com; it wouldn't be hosted on Cubing Contests. CC remains a standalone website with its own separate database.

I also have to mention that donations to the RecordRanks Ko-fi page will now technically go to Mintydev Ltd instead of me as a private developer (though in practice this makes little difference, as I'm still the main developer of RecordRanks). These donations still contribute to the development of the software and you can now even contribute towards certain features being prioritized, like Personal Records! This is intended as a reward for all the generous people who have been donating over the past year ❤️
